Hello! I am having a hard time discovering on how I could surround my truss with purlins. I tried to use structural beam system (using the reference line of one truss) but it does not connect to the other truss. An image is attached.

Beam systems should work. To model this with precision, I would do this:
1) Model a pyramid in a generic model template or in an adaptive generic model template. If it is in the generic template, use Blend to create a pyramid with 2 halves of a polygon of 12 sides. If it is in the adaptive template, draw the polygons as shown below, select the two polygons and do Create Form.
2) I opted to do the pyramid in the adaptive template, to create divided surfaces and have guidelines for the horizontal divisions. This is not difficult. After creating the form, you select the pyramid and do Divide Surface, then configure the number of divisions in the horizontal direction, and hide the vertical direction.
3) Load the pyramid family in a project. Then do Roof by Face (use a dummy roof type, such as 4" thick). This will create 6 roof planes. Then use Set Plane, and select the bottom face of one roof plane. Then use Beam System to create a sketch. Begin picking at the bottom line of the bottom plane of the roof. That will determine the beam direction. Then pick the other 3 edges, and you will have a complete sketch. Then configure the number of horizontal members of the beam system and the type of member. In my example, I used 5 horizontal members. Do this for all 6 roof planes.
4) Now you should have all the horizontals, except the bottom and top. If those members are necessary, you can do them with Beam > pick lines. Then use the Beam Join tool, and use the arrows to adjust joins between the members.
Then (if you want to do them again), you can model the joists using Beam > 3d Snapping > Pick lines, using the edges of the pyramid.
Hello! Thank you for the comprehensive explanation. This just solved my problem.
