How to merge Divided parts that have a gap

One model i am working on has a divided floor slab that has a 3/8ths gap between parts. I am trying to merge two parts together to make one panel but it wont merge because of the gap. Is there any way to merge these two parts into one without resetting all the other parts and their tags/fields?

Edit Division and change Gap to 0.

Unfortunately that will delete all the mark values from the existing parts

Changing gap to 0 will not remove tags.  But merging parts will and that doesn't relate to you question how to remove the division gap.

The only reason i would need to eliminate the gap is to allow for the two panels to merge. But doing this eliminates the mark values in all of the surrounding panels. sounds like this isn't possible without changing the gap to 0 then merging

I don't understand you logic. Let's pretend for a second that you don't have any gap in the first place.  Merging two parts into one will remove at least one mark, if not both.  It has nothing to do with whether or not you have the gap.

So if you want to merge then you may have to tag again.  If you want the old marks to remain then why merge them at all?

One slab gets divided into 50 parts by a grid. I want to combine two of those 50 parts without changing the mark values of the other 48. You cant merge two parts that have a gap. If I eliminate the gap so I can merge, mark values for all 50 get changed.

What is the Mark label?  I don't have that problem here with Mark.  Merging parts only removes the Marks of the merged parts, others are not affected.
