If you edit the Family you will see that it is using the template for Generic Model Adaptive...however, the family itself is not adaptive.

  1. I would assume that the points' coordinates and the curve are usually extracted either from Survey or a design drawings
  2. Then it is basically  a profile (Handler_002.rfa )hosted on the "N" points determining the curve. They might have used Dynamo to place them or even might have done that manually 1 by 1
    • An alternative would have been to use an adaptive profile + Repeaters

If you are not yet into dynamo, adaptive components and such things but more into architectural design, there are other alternative to the above method...example:

  1. using Railing
  2. using slab edge hosted on model lines
  3. using curtain walls

Thank you for your response,

I understood the family of the bridge but not the line family with PX and the meters. I can't open it. It seems to be a rebar but I can't edit it.

If you mean the placement lines shown in the below image, then no these are not rebars and they are non-editable. These are Non-Native families imported to Revit (project Environment) as Directshapes under the category Generic model.

As mentioned in previous reply, they might have used dynamo or a plugin (in your case could be Sofistik) to generate those elements/families.

This looks like a road alignment created by the plugin "Sofistik Bridge Modeller".

In his case and considering the added parameters by Sofistik, yes it could be the plugin being used. Nonetheless, this is not an exclusive feature for Sofistik. Dynamo as well as other Plugins can generate the same.

However, the original post was referring to the road/bridge family. Those lines are generated in the project and not in the family. Hence they are irrelevant.
