How to make an exception for demolished items

Hi!

I'm trying to find a solution to achieved this result:

- In my project I;m using existing and proposed phase. In the proposed plans I have to demolish some walls and to remove some furnitures as well. In the proposed plan I see my demolished walls in red (fine, I want it) but my furnitures as well and I have to hide all of them that I don't want show. The plan is so much clear without silly "demolished" furnitures! In order to avoid this hidding process for all my plans, I would like to make an exception where this particulary category, when "demolished" is not shown at all everywhere.  Many thanks!!!

My Thoughts would be to create a filter that would filter the objects by category depending on there phase demolished. Unfortunately you cant add the phase parameters to filters. But you could do the same thing by adding a new parameter to your furniture and filtering by that. In the example below i've done just that to the desks on the left i've added a new parameter for phase demolished, then created a filter to filter by the phase demolished = demolished. then within the VG i've just made anything matching that filter not visible. Hope this makes sense.

Create a project parameter (yes/no) called "kept furniture". Assign it to the furniture category.

Create a rule-based filter and assign it to the view template which also sets the phase filter (ex+new+demo). The rule is:  "kept furniture" equals "no". Set the element to be invisible using the view template.

When you demolish the furniture, uncheck "kept furniture".

You can create a workset and set it to off in all view as default. Then move the demolished furniture to that workset. They will not show for any views unless you purposely turn the workset on for the view.

Folks who are too rigid to understand that everything is just a tool in a toolbox.

Hi

1. Filters are view based.. so if you want to use " Filter" each and every view needs to be updated with the

custom filter.

2. Worksets are clever, If you are working in the Central file then there are many ways to do it, as mentioned with

creating New worksets...

3. If the file is not central, and you want to keep it independent, then you may try creating a

new " PHASE"  and control the Graphics Properties the way you want..

so even after demolishing it, you may choose to show that " PHASE " non- dash-red lines..

This phasing will work project wise just like workset...

Stage 1, Stage 2 , Stage 3, Existing, Demolished, New, New Phase 1, New Phase 2.. etc..but one must control the GRAPHICS as well.. Creating Phase is not recommended if the GRAPHICS are not taken care...adding new.. Multiple phases can be created in the project depending on the actual situation of the project... example.. Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
