Hey,

Looking for a way to insert a thumbnail i Revit Properties, when i'm working with Detail Components.

(Screenshot).

I have tried alot of ways now, and from my p.o.v., it's only 3D-families, like doors, windows, components etc. which is showing the thumbnails.

Do you know a way to do it?

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,

Morten Heuseler

Hi @mrheuseler

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk community!

You could try an app like a Preview Image Generator*

*I have provided a link to an application or add-in that MIGHT provide the extra functionality for which you are looking. Please note, however, this is not an Autodesk product or endorsement. You should take all precautions whenever you elect to download/install/utilize any application and do so at your own risk. Please review the developer’s documentation and disclaimers before proceeding to utilize their product(s).

Regards,

Hey,

Thank you,.

I have now tried the Preview Image Generator, and it is quite nice, and it shows perfectly the Thumbnails, before i open it in Revit.

My "problem" in Revit is not solved thougt. 🙂

Disappointing, that a "simple" thing like that, is not possible in a hightech program like Revit. Hope for better in 2020...

Any update on this yet @Autodesk @revitdeveloper ?

Enabling more features/abilities for users to "flesh out" the GUI would be a significant improvement for the broader user base
