HOW TO HIDE A POINT CLOUD IN AN IMPORT

Hi,

I've got a problem/question. I'm working on Revit 2016 doing MEP. I'm importing a structural revit file into my Mechanical template and this strucural file got a point cloud in it. My problem is, i can't find a way to hide it.

I've tried finding a point cloud tab or a case in visibility and graphics that could make it disappear. I've tried looking on the internet but there's nothing that make me believe it could be done directly in my Mechanical template. You're my last chance !

Thank you for your time and your responses.

Hi @Elliot.Haniez

Warm welcome to the Autodesk community!Smiley (fröhlich)

The extents of a point cloud visible in a plan or section view are impacted by the View Range.

To modify the visibility and graphics of point clouds in each view, use the Point Clouds tab in the Visibility/Graphics Overrides dialog.

  • Type the keyboard shortcut VG, or click View tabGraphics panel (Visibility/Graphics). In the dialog, click the Point Clouds tab.

The Point Clouds tab contains the following columns:

  • Visibility: Select the check box to show the point cloud in the view, or clear the check box to hide the point cloud.
  • You can use a view template to save the visibility settings of a particular view and then apply it to other views.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question. Kudos welcome!

Regards,

If that doesn't work, try this:

1. Select the imported structural file.

2. Activate the Query tool on the ribbon.

3. Click on the point cloud.

4. When the dialog box pops up, click the Hide button.
