How to get 2"=1'-0" into my scale list?

Hi,

Anyone know of a way to get 2"=1'-0" into my scale list?

1.  I can use custom scale and repeat this procedure within every view, or,

2.  I can use a view template, but the view name defaults to 1 : 6.

What is wrong with Autodesk?????  The software has had the ability to create custom scales for at least a decade now.  Are the subscriptions not expensive enough to pay for basic program improvements?

I think he knows how to do it but needs not repeating the steps for every view.

Hmm....what is  wrong?  Maybe it is because they don't make a 2"=1'-0" Scale?   But feel free to prove me wrong with a picture.

No worries ToanDN.

I just made a dummy 2"=1'-0" view title as a work around.

Like a physical architect's scale? - maybe not.

however, the math is simple enough - a lot easier than 1-1/2" = 1'-0".  Ideally you'd never need to use a scale on drawings because they are dimensioned.

That is why it doesn't show up on the list....it doesn't exist as an actual scale.  The only way it will work for a contractor is if they are using an electronic scale or bluebeam.  Granted, you can put a note on your drawings saying "Do not scale drawings"....but everyone knows contractors/estimators ignore this.

Hi

Seems there's no way to apply same scale and show up in view title..

it does goes back to 1:6...

1. You can choose the closest scale available...

2. That scale is for details, duplicating the view keeps all the properties same,

this one might help in a way..

3. Revit is keeping the flexibility how to show particular scale...

so   2"=1'-0" , 1"=0'-6"  , 4"=2'-0"  these are all same... atleast revit not forcing us how to show these

scale in just one way..

4... and it seems, because that particular scale can be shown in various ways, VIEW TEMPLATE is not able

to pick something like "  2"=1'-0"  and going back to default 1:6..

views scale in the same project...views scale in the same project...

best luck

no you can't have ANY scale. anything bigger than 1:1 seems impossible in the brains of the Revit programmers. How would you detail flashings or roof layers in anything less than say... 4:1 ? Stupid software. The solution for this is to model at a wrong scale and create a fake dim style. Probably not totally related to this thread but at the same time, very related.
