How to extend/join roof with another?

Hi guys,

I have a question on how to extend the roof to intersect with the other. Hopefully the photo below makes sense, but I'm trying to extend the top portion of the roof and keep the sides (as dashed) to align with the existing walls. Is there a way to do this?

Many thanks.

Use Modify > Roof Join tool.

Thanks for this. When I click on the button it doesn't allow me to select the roofs to join. Do you know why that might be?

Are you selecting the EDGE of the roof to extend first, and then the target Roof to connect to second?

Did you do this?

- Activate the tool

- Select the edge of the dormer roof that you want to extend

- Select the main roof

Still not letting me join. I've attached the file that I'm working from. Thanks @ToanDN @barthbradley

Why are you shape-editing to create a simple A-Frame? Why not define the slopes in sketch mode?

I noticed the pitches on either side are different.  30.02 vs 29.48.  If there's a good reason to do this, you can certainly define different slopes in Roof By Footprint sketch mode.  You're not locked into only using one.
