There are 2 problems .
One is that the exported file is in dark grey color
The other problem is floor mass tool doesn't create any floor mass in the model although rest of the massing tools like walls/roof/curtain wall are working fine.

... this bed was made in sketchup
... then exported as a dwg
(to do that you need to separate all elements in different dwg and apply same material for each one)
... then create a family in REVIT
... look how good it renders in REVIT
... to me is almost perfect

Do you have Levels intersecting the Mass? If not; there's your problem.
Yes there are levels intersecting the model. This problems doesn't happen with other mass object made in the project.
This only happening with sketchup imported files or Formit files that have water tight issues.

I don't know what you mean by "water tight issues". But, like I said: post your Sketchup file and we'll take a look at it, and see if we can find a solution for you.
.... I don't know what is worse
... the "model" .... or the version it was made

I forgot to mention that revit would give this error if I open sketchup file from versions 14-18 .
For some reason if I save the file as version 8 or below version than it doesn't give this error.
I had no problem importing it into a Mass Environment. And no problem making Curtain Wall Systems or Mass Floors from it. See image I posted.
