how can i edit family of a tag inside a project? or just export it to file outside of revit porject?
select the tag , select the edit family button on the ribbon
inside the family editor select the Label (text) select the edit label button on the properties palette add or change the parameters the label is reporting.
adjust the width box to avoid text wrapping
do a save as to a common location for future use.
On this specific tag, i dont see the "Edit family" buttun on the ribbon.
on other tags - i can see this buttun. why is that?
it is not a tag
it may be text
or text within the family
or part of a linked file
can you share a screen shot of what you are describing?
in the video when you changed the selection you could edit the family.
edit the family and do a save as to what you want it to be select all instance and change them to what they need to be.
Can you find the family in the family browser?
Maybe you can open it from there (or save and open).
Yes i did that in purpse to demonstatre that in some tags, the edit family lacks from the ribbon.
i tryied it. i dont find any option to find/save it from the project browser.
so if you did that intentionally you answered your own question
edit what works don't create things that don't work
Could you maybe share the file?
(Delete as much as you can from the model to minimze file size)
Sure, upload the project or post a download link if the file is too large.
I think I know what the problem is. When was this file or template originally created? Older versions of Revit didn't have the "Edit Family" option or even a save option for loaded families. This option was added in version 6.0 apparently.
I'm guessing this file was created with a template that was continued from an older template, where those families were never updated.

You're only option is to recreate the window tag and load it.
I would advise also removing this old family from your template (or give your template a proper update).
Also, the M in front of the family name indicates this is a standard Autodesk family. You'll probably find a newer version in your Revit 2018 library.
