How to duplicate a floor plan to create options without changing original plan

Hello!

I am a beginner in Revit and my midterm is to create an attached ADU for a house we've designed.

I am attempting to create at least 2 options that will be quite different, and thought I could duplicate the original first floor plan, make changes to the duplicates, and have 3 separate floor plans to view. 1) the Original, 2) ADU Opt 1 and 3) ADU Opt 2.

I duplicated with Details, and realized a few minutes in working in ADU 1 was making changes to the Original. How can I make optional plans without effecting the original?

Thanks!

Views are just points of view of the Model.  @bin and @hmunsell are spot on.  Design Options and Dedicated Views are what you need here.  ...or a another Model to view.

Simply right click on the plan you want to duplicate then scroll to duplicate view which will then give you three other options…choose…duplicate with detailing
