Hi All.
I am currently working on a fast-paced large project with many different plans, sections, details, etc. I was wondering if there is an option to show the texture on the wall finish (Gypsum board) on sections, but not show it in plans?
Here is what I have tried so far:
-Editing the material cut pattern (it currently shows in both plan and section views, so it is not working).
-I tried creating parts of the wall components- while this works, it is time consuming having to edit every single one of my details and sections and creating parts of each wall. In addition, I cannot figure a way to tag/keynote the parts components.
Is there a more efficient way to change the visibility in the views so the Gyp board texture shows on sections+Plan details only? I am trying to avoid using filled regions/detail components for time reasons.
Thanks in advance

Without using parts, I believe it is not possible to override the cut pattern of a 1 of many layers in a wall. What might be a compromise between parts and regions is to model your walls without the finish layer (Gypsum) then place the gypsum as a single layer wall and join them together (for inserts to work).
This way you can override the graphics of the single layer gypsum board separately
using a filter added to the view template

Thank you! I love the suggestion to model the gypsum board separately- I will surely try for my future projects!
Thank you for letting me know about the parts. I decided to give parts another try, and I adjusted my view template to make parts show (previously hidden). I am now able to tag my walls! Also, I can assign materials to the different parts components.
Thank you very much!
