How to display curtain wall system panels as a single line in plan?

I would like to display my curtain wall panels as a single line in plan (especially at smaller scales). In windows and family-based curtain wall panels, I've done this by adding a symbolic line to the family and setting the visibility of the glass extrusion to be hidden in plan view. This works great.

However, with the system panel for curtain walls, I can't figure out a good way to do this. The system panel seems to be required for non rectangular panels, so I can't just avoid using it entirely.

My current workaround is to make the system family very thin so that it almost looks like a single line in plan. This of course is not an ideal solution, as I don't necessarily want it to show up so thin in a wall section.

Is it possible to make the system panel show a symbolic line in plan views rather than the 3d geometry?

Are there any other solutions I'm not thinking of to have a non-rectangular curtain panel that can display as a single line in plan?

This isn't ideal, but here's a shot at a solution:

Edit your mullion profile to have a 1/32" "dip" where the glass line should be, then turn off Curtain Panels in your visibility/graphics settings. Not super fun, but at least you don't have to change the panel thickness?

Good luck...

Does it work if you model 2 elements in the family?

you could show the thin one only in plan, and the other one in section using Family element visibility settings.
