Hello, I haven't been able to find a solution for this so I'm posting here. I have created a structural wooden framing for a floor, and I want to fill in the gaps with rockwool insulation and Tyvek vopour barrier. So, I've created a floor element that overlaps with the framing hoping that I would be able to cut the floor with the structural framing after creating it.
Attempting to use the "cut" tool does not give any results, as it seems like the wooden beams are not "available" to be selected as the cutting element after I select the floor element. In the following .gif you can see me selecting the cut tool, then selecting the floor element with the first click to make it the host element, and then when hovering over one of the beams, it does not light up as if it simply isn't available for the cut operation. Attempting to select it anyways simply leads to aborting the cut operation:
The beam is from a custom family that I made based on the Revit template, and I found a forum post from 2015 mentioning that such custom beam families need to have an additional "void" element defined to occupy the same space as the beam such that it's possible to use that beam's accompanying void element to make a cut operation. Is this still the case...? I'm using Revit 2024. Thanks!
