Hi
I import plant pot model to Revit. I have Texture image. How can I create material for leaf?
Best regards;
Travis
That a pretty broad question. Maybe it would be better answered by reading the vast amount of documentation published by Autodesk on the subject.
Start here:
I wouldn't recommend importing and apply texture mapping. It is very tedious to align the texture correctly. However I would use Revit RPC plants. It does the job well and you can render it with texture. See screenshot below
Hi @syman2000 and @barthbradley
I test place RPC in interior. It will not cast shadow as expected because It's fake shadow image.
I try a way to make material for leaf. Because there's 3 texture image for leaf, where should I load in Apperance tab?
You need to actually model the leaves (e.g. the geometry) if you want realistic shadows.
Yes I import model plant to Revit (Mesh to Autocad then export DWG file, Insert to Revit) I'm finding a way to make material for leaf properly.
Use Green. It's a good color for leaves. Yellow or Brown not good. Not healthy-looking.
I test import model to Revit (attached file)
I try making material for leaf but it's not good. How can I fix it?
Yea Revit is very limited in terms of how you control organic surface. You can try having one green color and keep the bump map. It looks fine if the object is far away. If it is close by, the pattern is distracting.
Your other solution would be to look at real time rendering like Twinmotion, Enscape or Lumion? Those have their own planting content which will render way with all the plant texture bake in.
You are funny @barthbradley
I agree with all of you @ToanDN @syew @barthbradley
Now I'm testing Revit Interoperability for 3DS Max. It's easier with organic model.
