How to create a solid hatch pattern

Hi,

I'm creating/editing some electrical legend families and simply want to apply a solid fill to a filled region. However, the family file does not have any fill patterns loaded. I've found the Revit hatch pattern files under C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit LT 2019\Data (I'm obviously using Revit LT 2019 and also have AutoCAD LT 2019), but there is no solid fill pattern.

How do I create or where do I find a solid fill pattern please?

It seems a ridiculous question, as surely a solid pattern should be the easiest thing, but there is no obvious way that I've yet found. Help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

What kind of family are you creating for your legend?  Usually legends are created in the project as a drafting view or Legend as not all fill patterns will transfer over from the family to the project.

Solid fill black should already be part of the family, such as the detail item template.

Might be easier to advise you if we can see your family.

You cannot draw a filled region directly in a model family. Create a detail family, draw a filled region with a solid fill pattern then load it in your family. You can associate the parameters to control the dimensions if need be.

Find another family that does have a solid fill pattern

Then use Transfer Project Standards (on the Manage Tab) & filter down to only Fill Patterns

You might also want to Purge the family you're pulling from so that solid is the only pattern left in it before you transfer

Thank you to each of you who replied and offered help.

To answer various questions, I was using a wall-based electrical fixture. I did know that the detail item was what I needed to edit, however there were no hatch patterns loaded into the detail - hence my problem.

The simplest solution was akin to that offered by dplumb - thank you. I found another symbol that had a solid fill hatch pattern and simply copied it between the projects. (Silly that I didn't think of that before, as I've done just that in other contexts. I think I was too intent on how to create or find a .pat file.)

Thank you again everyone - I sincerely appreciate this forum and you who have kindly helped.

Regards.
