How to create a parapet in Revit?

I need to do a parapet at the end of the wall surrounding the building. What is the best and fastest way to do it?

… hi @Anonymous

…. To add a wall type sweep do the following:

To add a parapet cap at the top of the front wall (and it might be nice to add a soldier course.)

To do this, we’ll use wall sweeps. You can add a wall sweep in two ways. They can be added to the wall type parameters so that they automatically show on all instances of the wall type throughout the model or you can use the Wall Sweep tool which allows you to add Sweeps to the model manually at whatever location you designate.

  1. On the Project Browser, expand the Families > Walls > Basic Wall branch.
  1. Right-click the Exterior Parapet type and choose: Type Properties.

Make sure that the preview is showing. If it is not click the Preview button at the bottom to open it.

From the View pop-up at the bottom, choose: Section: Modify type attributes.

  1. Next to Structure, click the Edit button.
  1. In the Preview, zoom in on the wall.
  1. At the bottom of the dialog, click the Sweeps button.

Please note that this button is only available if you are viewing the section preview.

In the “Wall Sweeps” dialog, click the Add button.

  1. From the Profile list, choose: Parapet Cap-Precast: 16" Wide [M_Parapet Cap-Precast: 350mm Wide].

For the Material Choose: Concrete -Cast-in-Place Concrete.

From the “From” list, choose: Top.

At the bottom of the “Wall Sweeps” dialog, click the Apply button (see Figure).

  1. Click OK three times to complete the Sweep.

If you wish, you can also edit the Exterior -EIFS on Mtl. Stud wall type the same way. Repeat the process to add the parapet cap to that wall type as well.

  1. On the Project Browser, open the {3D} view to see the results.

The method really depends on what you mean by "parapet". We generally model parapets as walls and they are placed on Levels just like any other walls.

Do you mean to ask about parapet coping?

This is what I'm going for in the look. I need a truss with a chase for the duct to run through. I keep getting error messages. I can't seem to load diminisional lumber less than 2x10. Top and bottom cords need to be 2x6.

What do you do for interior walls/parapets?
