How to create a family containing walls, doors etc

Hello,

I want to create a Revit family for whole part of building floor, lets say a simple one room flat with bathroom. Can I include walls, doors etc in my own families? And how? I mean to use system walls, doors in them etc used in my family.

Thank you!

You need to do this with Groups.

there was a good presentation at MRUG a few months back which I've linked below - it's not quite as straightforward as they make it out to be but well worth looking into if this is what you need to achieve.  The biggest issue we've come up against is when you start including Area Boundaries in the group.

Thank you. I already tried to use groups for it. The video broadened my horizons, however ;-).

But it cannot be nicely parametric like if it was created with families, only workaround with global parameters can be done there ... if I understand it correctly?

Yes, that's pretty much it.

For clarity, or in case of any doubt, you can't do what you want to do in a family - the best you can hope for is to use methodology along the lines of the video above.
