How to create a double layer in a curtain wall

Dear All,

I have this curtain wall that I am modelling.  Thick wooden mullions on the exterior with glass panels within this.  I would then like to add a wooden louver in front of the glass panels (as shown in the paper drawing).   

I took the panel and made it into a new curtain grid, and made the wooden louver out of mullions of the new grid.  This however replaces the glass behind it.  IS there a better way I could implement this wooden vertical louver in front of a glazed system?

I made a new wall within the framing that was soley assigned to the louver 🙂  SOLVED
