I am trying to create an extrusion with a complex slope (sloping in two directions). I have created all of the other forms by extruding along the Z axis and have used a void form to create the slope. But for a form sloping in two different directions, this approach wouldn't work. I am positive there is a way to do this, and wish families had the modify sub-elements like when manipulating a floor or roof in Revit Architecture Project.
See below with what I am trying to achieve:
You can roof/floor and modify all 3 corners. Then use the vertical cut so the middle part will be cut.
Thank you @syman2000 , however I would like to keep all the components in one family and using a floor/roof isn't an option... I was able to create the shape using a sweep with hidden geometry, but now I am trying to infill that triangular "frame" with a glass or mesh panel and run into the same issue as before.
Ok. Maybe Adaptive family will fit your need. Here is a sample you can check out
First off, the triangular shape you are modeling has a single slope and not two. It’s just sloping in a different direction than the other parts of your model.
The trick is to define the work plane with the three corners of the triangle. Then you can simply create an extrusion in that work plane and give it the extrusion thickness you require.
Duplicate that extrusion, edit the profile and erase the outside line to create the inner pane.
The downside is that the joint between the triangular frame and the other will be open on the underside.
