How to copy a portion/section/floor of a model as a separate file

Hi. I have a 4 story building. I am trying to render a few rooms and send them to someone who will render the rooms for me in 3ds max. I don't want to send them the entire file. Just the room or floor (preferably the room) so they can focus on that portion. Could someone walk me through this process? I know there's a way because I have copied people's links in my file before, but I have no idea the steps to do this. Screenshots/video or detailed write-out would be extremely helpful. Thank you so much!

You can create 3d view and use section box to crop the portion of the model. Then export that 3d view.

The other option is if you have a callout, you can set the 3d view to be the same view as the cropped

Go to to view cube and select the arrow

Select the view

How do I save this separately from the full file?

You can export as FBX or DWG. If you really want to save as RVT, then create the new sheet. Place the 3d view in the titleblock and export. This will export part of your model to new Revit file.

Export the view to FBX and send it to them.

Place it on a blank titleblock. Right click and then the save to file will appear.
