How to convert generic model to a mass

Hi everyone I try to get a surface from a generic model but I couldnt do it.I have tried to export generic model as dwg and getting and profile from it to create an ın-place mass but every time got error every time.İs there anyway to do it.I really need it now.

is it a complex surface? could you use the In-Place mass tool to create a mass using Pick Lines to get your profile?

I have tried it .it is not possible .Because shape is slopy to the work planes and when ı pick lines ı just get flat lines.I am adding sample revit file

Works for me.  That is Export to DWG and Insert CAD into In-Place Mass session, and then close out of In-Place Mass session. Voila! Ignore that message.

Set the Export to DWG option to ACIS solid instead of Polymesh.  Below: gray is the original generic model, salmon is the in-place mass with the linked DWG, and a Divided surface from it.
