Hi, I use the 2023.1 version of Revit and was wondering if you could somehow change an adaptive component to a regular component.
I am creating a light fixture family and the body of the lamp is a branch with some twigs. Now, to make it as natural as possible(i.e wavy in all directions), I used the generic adaptive template.
The problem is, everything else were created in "normal" templates and I have trouble nesting the branch into the other components. I found nesting everything else to the adaptive too overwhelming, and I would like the branch to STAY the way it was created.
Is there anyway to solve this issue?
Export the adaptive family to another format (deg, sat, or fbx) then import it in the other family.
Here's the family. I tried to export it to SAT, but the referensplanes stuck with it as a part of the component.
Have you considered the other way around? Instead of nesting this family into a "regular" family, nest the "regular" family into this one and host it to an AP Work Plane. To do that, you would make the nested family Work Plane Based and NOT Always Vertical.
Yes, as stated in the post, I found it too overwhelming and more messy than to do it in a "regular" family.
