Hi, have you tried playing with "View Range"? Usually it helps to control the level cuts.

If the linked model is located at correct elevation, then by simple host view you should be able to see the elements.. other way is to get the view of linked file using "linked view ".. Go to 1-VG, 2- Linked Revit 3-Display settings 4- Custom - 5 By linked view and chose which level you want to see ... you may further customize it.. just look at the options..If the linked model is located at correct elevation, then by simple host view you should be able to see the elements.. other way is to get the view of linked file using "linked view ".. adjust the view range as you want in the linked files
then in the master file type vv & go to the Revit Links tab
in front of the required link press the word (By host View)
in the new window select  By Linked View then choose the corresponding view

this will work fine

Do the levels in the linked and host projects match? Check that to make sure.
