How to align roof ridges?

I created a roof using the "from footprint" option and made a few adjustments that got it looking mostly how I want it. The one thing I can't seem to figure out is how to align the two ridges. Basically I want the ridge on the right to match the one on the left, while maintaining the same slope. I can only seem to move the ridges vertically, is there a way to move them horizontally? Or to constrain the two so they're always collinear?

Thanks

So you want to move the ridge horizontally so its in the same place as the other one? You can't just move the ridge and keep the same slope without moving the entire roof. Its simple geometry.

I may not have explained that as well as I could have. On the near side of the building, the ridge and the left side of the roof would move to match the far side of the building. Please see updated pic.

Look into the Slope Arrow option in the roof sketch. Alternatively, create the roof for the larger width building, extend it over the whole building. Then use a vertical opening to carve off the extra roof over the narrower wing.

I would recommend the second option Steve proposed...by far the easiest...cut the part of the roof out that you don't need.

If you are feeling mathy...you could also calculate how much the eave would need to be offset to make them line up.

You can also just use a different sketch (simpler)... see image. The narrower roof will require a taller top plate height naturally.

Actually I ended up being able to use the same sketch, I just needed to uncheck "defines slope" from that edge. Never would've thought of that without seeing your sketch! Thanks!
