How is the Tile Pattern created?

I suppose you have a model pattern, so in case you want do hide that on all walls in 3d views then just set wall pattern in vg --> model category walls to hidden or else if it's for specific wall(s) you could filter for these and do the same with filter settings

You say the tile pattern is in a Family. How is the tile pattern created? Is it modeled? Is it linework? Can you provide some more information, or post the Family?

Ah yes, so if it's in the family you could just attach parameters for material in the family, set the material in your project, and just do the same as with my previous post...? You shouldn't use model lines as a pattern I think, if that's the case.

Could you elaborate why you would need to do this in the family? If it's just one instance why not just draw it in elevation, see Toan's post...
I missed previous post, will have a look.

-You could paint the surfaces in the family with your tile material / model pattern.
-Create a filter for the family for your 3D views and set patterns to hidden.
-If you want parts of the family to have patterns except the walls, probably you would have to combine different families in a group or assembly and again use a filter.
