How to Add and Maintain Parametric Annotation Lines in a Curtain Wall Panel Family

Hi there,

I am wondering how I can display and maintain parametric annotation lines in my curtain panel family. I can add the lines, and they appear when I load the family. However, I'm unsure how to keep them parametric when the panel size changes. What do I need to lock them to, especially considering the curved lines, which are confusing to lock properly?

Please see the image below where I have selected the lines I have drawn.

Thank you very much!

Split the diagonal line into 2 so you can constrain the midpoint to the center ref planes.

You will also want all the end points of the diagonals and the end point of the arcs to all land on the same horizontal ref plane. In you image the left side arc is on the exterior ref plane and the other arc doesn't look like it is hitting a ref plane at all.

You will also want to turn on the center mark for the arcs so you can align and lock their center points also.

Align and lock all points that hit a ref plane intersection, add a locked angle dimension for the angled lines and you should be good to go.

FWIW: Detail Family Attached. Nest it into your Door Family.

AH! I see what you are asking now!

Nest the Parametric  Detail Family into the Curtain Panel Family and Associate its Width Parameter to a Width Parameter in the Parent . That Width Parameter in the Parent is a REPORTING Parameter.
