How to add a leader from a generic annotation in a detail item family template ?

Hi, I'm using Revit 2015 this is my issue:

I know that if you add normal text in a detail item, the text won't appear in the project. So I created a generic annotation by instance and add it in the detail item. But, I need to add leaders ( Arrows ) to specify some equipement in the detail. When I select the generic annotation and click on Edit type

it show me a graphic option to choose the "leader tick mark"(see the pitcure) BUT I can't add a leader in the modify/text note -> format (see also the picture).

edit typeedit typewhen i select a "normal text"when i select a "normal text"

Also, when i select the generic annotation, the format option does'nt appear ...

So, is it possible to add a leader from a generic annotation in a detail item template family?

thanks in advance for your answers.

If you are trying to tag a detail item - create a detail item tag. Add a label to the detail item tag with the Type Comments shared parameter (this will require you to add standard information to the family) OR the Comments shared parameter, which will allow you to enter information in the project.

Thank you for your answer,

but I'm not working in a project (.rvt). I'm working in a family (.rfa) and the family template that I used is a detail item. I can only insert : detail family/items and generic annotation...

I can't insert a generic tag nor a detail item tag.

Point taken.

Generic annotations can have leaders in their own families, or when nested into another generic annotation / tag family. Details using detail components are usually created and annotated in drafting views.

This is the first time I have heard of detail item families having annotation - that sounds more like an approach used for drafting views.

You are stepping out of the ordinary workflow so you will have to accept the fact that you don't have all the tools available.  If you want to stick with it, then create the leaders and arrows using lines and symbols.  Note that you will run into troubles when you need to rotate or mirror the family in projects.

Is there a solution to this? I am having the same issue. I am in a .rfa file and cannot add leaders to text boxes.

Similar to what @ToanDN said, this is stepping outside the ordinary workflow. I am in a similar situation where I nested a generic annotation (can create labels with shared parameters) that I added to a detail item since detail items cannot create labels.

This post got me thinking. Here is a solution that I came up with that I just started using.

Again, this is outside of the ordinary workflow so the leader is not a true leader where you can bend the leader like with tags but rather model lines to mimic a leader.

Hope this helps.
