Shared Parameter. Use the exact same Shared Parameter in Tag that is used in Family. Shared Parameters can also be brought into Project Schedules.
If it's a text parameter, you could always re-purpose one of the in-built parameters, such as comments or description.
I have 100s of doors in my project
I want to create a parameter for my doors that is a Yes/No parameter that yes means it has a lock and no means it doesnt have a lock
How can I do this? As I cant change for each one when I do it this method
Shared Parameter as Project Parameter assigned to Door Category. That work?
I created a shared parameter.. But can only create a shared parameter under the category of door.
Is that okay?
Then i created a project parameter in the project and grouped it under identity data
And then gave it the door catagory
But I cant see it in the identity data of the doors?

Do I need to create a global parameter?

If you add the parameter as a type parameter then you need to edit door type to see it. If you add it as an instance parameter then you select a door and see it. For the hardware yes no parameter, I think you can add it as an instance parameter.
I did that and still can´t see it in my identity data for my doors , it doesnt appear

Now select a door in a view and look at its properties palette under Identity Data section.
Create a Door Schedule and add the Yes/No Shared/Project Parameter to it. Then go through and activate all the Yes/No Parameters. They are initially NULL, meaning they are neither Yes or No.
