How lock ".dat" file in workshared file - ProjectWise Cloud

I have a workshared file that is hosted on bentley systems cloud.

Every time I select elements such as text, lines, etc. it requires the file to lock permissions. This severely impairs workflow.

"Auto" element borrowing with button click or modifying element; the files are automatically checked out and checked in"

ProjectWise - Actions that Automatically Lock and Check Out Files in ProjectWise Integrated Autodesk...

Is there any way to check out or keep permissions? Currently the workflow is someting like this:

Loop:

select a text or line, it takes around 5-10 seconds to lock the file, make edits, 5-10 seconds to unlock file

select a text or line, it takes around 5-10 seconds to lock the file, make edits, 5-10 seconds to unlock file

Simply modifying a couple detail lines or text takes minutes instead of seconds.

Thoughts?

The last I looked Revit worksharing is not supported by ProjectWise. It supports posting and manage the presence of the file in their system but not multi-user concurrent access and syncing. You should refer to Bentley's current documentation for Revit integration with ProjectWise.

Since it's been a long while since I've looked closely...a quick search yields this via the Google AI response:

"No, Revit worksharing does not directly function within Bentley ProjectWise; while you can access and manage Revit files through ProjectWise, the actual worksharing functionality (dividing work into worksets and managing changes collaboratively) happens within Revit itself, and ProjectWise acts as a central repository for file management and access, not as a native worksharing platform for Revit.

Key points to remember:
  • Revit worksharing is managed by Revit server: To utilize worksharing in Revit, you need to set up a Revit server, which is not part of ProjectWise.
  • ProjectWise as a file manager: You can store and access your Revit files within ProjectWise, but the collaborative design aspects (worksharing) are handled within Revit.
  • Limited integration: While there are integrations to link Revit models from ProjectWise, this does not mean ProjectWise is actively managing the worksharing process.
