HOW DO I SPLIT A 3D MODEL INTO TWO PIECES

Imagine cutting a cake in half and pulling the two pieces apart slightly. Allowing you to see the inside levelsElectionCake_halves.jpg
That is what I want to do with my project while in 3d view.
Does anyone know how to achieve this?

Yes, try the displace elements.

or you can create 2 isometric view with section boxes to cut half of the project and place them onto one sheet.

Unfortunately neither of those options allow what I am trying to achieve. Thanks though

It sure looks like what you asked for. Try describing exactly what you are trying to achieve.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Maybe the OP wants to split the model in half so as to insert something into the gap. The saw tool would be the right answer.

Good one @barthbradley!

That must be a demolition tool. It works as designed but not as expected.

For some reason I don't have this tool available. I'm using Revit 2020. Is it in this version??
