How do I import object styles

So, I have received four models from our client. They are all in separate files. When I open the plans up, the lines look really fat. Opening up VG, then object styles, I see the lines are too thick. See attached image. How do I import object styles from one model to the next without having to manually change them through VG / object styles each time?

On your Manage ribbon, select the button "Transfer Project Standards". Place a check mark in any categories you wish to transfer, including Object Styles. Make sure the project you are transferring from is open in the background, and the project which you are transferring the standards to is the currently-open and active project.

Thanks. I have tried this but the object styles remain the same. I'll play around with it a bit more. The file I'm opening from has 2 imported models. Not sure if that is mucking it around or not.

I doubt any imported files would affect the Object Styles. If the Transfer Project Standards isn't working, I'm not sure what will. Can you give more information on what is not working about the Transfer Project Standards process? Are the Object Styles remaining the same in the currently-open project even after you use this tool? That would be concerning since it would something is going wrong.

"Import Object Styles"???  What are we talking about?

If we're talking about Linking Revit, Object Styles can be "BY HOST" or "BY LINK".  Verify that "BY HOST" is chosen for Link.

When I transfer project standards from an open project, a window comes up that says "The following Types already exist in the project destination project but are different:" I can press "Overwrite", "New Only" or "Cancel". When I press "Overwrite", the Object Styles in the new project remains the same ie the lines are still fat - Projection Line Weight up to 5 and Cut Line Weight up to 7. When I try to transfer project standards again and this time press "New Only", there is again no change to the Object Styles.

I've found a couple of workarounds.

1.Copy and paste the model from the client file to my own project template. Not sure if there will be any issues crop up because of this.

2. Open up the client model, create a sheet and place a 3D model on the sheet. Save the sheet to a file. Then open up this file as a project. Again, not too sure of any issues with that.

Both those workarounds seem dangerous at best. Are you sure you are transferring project standards the correct direction? You'll want to have the client's file as the active project, and your template or whatever file you are pulling the thinner line weights from open in the background. Since you say the line weights are remaining fat, I'll bet this is the reason why. If you have thinner line weights in your template file, this will work.
