How do I edit the Values within a Color Scheme Definition?

Hi there,

Does anyone know where to go or how to edit the inputs or names in the Value column in a Color Scheme? see snip below.  I don't want to create a new color scheme, I just want to change the name of Values to match the revised floor finishes schedule. This column is always greyed out & I cant work out how to change these value names. Its not very important but it would be nice to know.

Any help appreciated.

Dominic

FWIW: It might be easier to do this in a Room Schedule. Create/Modify a Room Schedule and add the Floor Finish Parameter Field to it.

Thanks for your suggestion. unfortunately I don't think this helps with an already established in use Colour Scheme.

Your question was "how to edit the inputs or names in the Value column in a Color Scheme?" Those values are coming from the Room Properties.

My suggestion was to edit them through a Schedule, instead of one by one.

Hi,

Its the text or Value name I'm trying to edit. The schedule and allocation of floor finishes is done and I'm comfortable editing those, though your schedule method is a good one. But once I create a new Floor Finish (example: Vinyl with timber skirting) and I want to edit that name or description to say (Vinyl with Painted timber skirting) I cant change the text, my only option seems to be to create a new Floor Finish and reassign all those rooms. I have 150 rooms assigned to 'Vinyl with timber skirting' and we want to note that its 'painted' timber, not clear finish, and I cant find a way to  simply edit the text. I dont want to have to reallocate all of those 150 rooms. Does that make sense?

Strange. You should be able to change those Text parameter values quite easily. Are they by chance being populating by a Key Schedule?

Post your file if you want me to take a look at it.

Again - that's exactly the reason I suggested Schedule.  With a Schedule you can make "batch" changes via filtering and unchecking "Itemize Every Instance".

I agree that schedules are a good way of managing this type of data and your suggestions is a good one. However it is a work around as opposed to solving my original question. It appears that its not possible to edit this text & its a historical revit issue. Thanks for your time & help.

I think I remember that issue. I don't recall what version it was, but it was back in the days when Revit was steam powered.
