My current file is set vertically as it's shown below. I'm trying to set it horizontally so that I can rotate the stairs.
I've watched some videos on YouTube on setting workplaces and it seems easy enough, however, when I try the same thing in a Family file, it doesn't work.
First you check the workplane and check off vertical
Once you load your family into your family, placed it on angle reference plane
Now you can rotate the reference plane and it will rotate stair
Did you mean work plane? just checking as I am no expert here?
in the family you can set work planes in the editor - or pick the spot you want it to be set
if you want it set horizontal then pick the Ref Level or 3D and pick or place the work plane
pick the plane on the model:
sorry if that's too simple I might be missing something or your family might be resisting normal editing as stairs in the normal REvit out of the box are much more complex than a regular family and don't work like a simply family edit. Is it a stair edit or another import etc?
what Syman said, he must have posted that whilst I did this as otherwise I would not have posted mine!!
