How can I show the balconies on the floor below greyed out

I have a view template for my floor plans, and I know I can change the depth of the views to include the balconies below, but it they appear the same way as the ones on the current floor making it confusing. How can I grey out and simplify the appearance of things further away in plan?

I don't think it is necessary to show balconies that exist on the floor below. That's what the floor plan of the floor below is for. Showing balconies in two different levels is confusing and not necessary.

If you still want to do it, you can use the overlay feature, showing the floor below. Then use the linework tool to apply a line with a grey color or halftone to the balconies. Then, turn off the overlay.

Another workaround is adding a semi-transparent mass below the upper floor but above the lower floor. With this method you can have a gradual fading effect as the distance increases.

Keep it (them) in a special workset so it does not interfere with other views.
