How can I show levels on the front face of my model in 3D view

AidanHawkins_0-1689577164595.png

Right now my levels are shown behind the model

How can I show these to show at the front of my model like I have drawn in Red

Regards,

Aidan

There is no setting for this.

The only way you can accomplish something like this is making use of model lines (or create a family for this)

The disadvantage of course, is that these are model elements so will show up in all views. Then you need to filter them out in those views were you do not want to see them. So seems a lot of complications for this.

as mentioned @L.Maas no setting by now?

try to make a double text for your level, if it is okay with you?

I'd create an in place  enveloping Mass and then Mass Floors with a custom Tag on the pinned 3d View..

Maybe easiest to create a new linestyle (Manage > Additional Settings > Line Style), name it something like LEVELS. Set the appropriate line pattern, weight and colour.

In your views you can then deselect these lines in your VG, under Model Categories > Lines > LEVELS

..and , of course, you can hide the Mass , to let only the Mass Floors visible..

Thanks for the advice

I am still stuck on trying to show lines in this 3d view

I have a view template with model category > lines , all on

but still the visibility is hidden.....

Attached a project (Revit 2021) with some examples.

In the 3d view you will see two times some model lines (magenta)

When you look at plan view Level 0 you will not see the line (hidden by use of VG)

When you look at plan view Level 1 you will see the line (not hidden)

For level 2 I made a generic family. You will see it is not visible in Plan view Level 2 due to setting of visible settings in the family (not visible in Plan/RCP, Front/Back and Left/Right views).

This family can also be controlled by VG or making use of filters.

Have a look at the project to understand the concepts.

Thanks for this

I understand how it works

The problem is I dont know why I can not see my model lines appear..

I have been given the warning: None of the created elements are visible in Floor Plan: Nivel 10_T View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings, as well as any Plan Regions and their settings.

I have checked the VG settings, all lines are turned on...

I have checked the active view, the lines are drawn within the active view..

I dont understand why it wont show them

Regards

Aidan

Creating a view template that allows you to view your model lines in one view and apply them to another view is the only way to appear them.

The message means that particular (sub)category is hidden somehow. This could be your VG settings, also check if filters are active that might have hidden things.
To check you also can create a new view and see if they are visible there
