How can I make elevation markers "relative"?

I can set spot elevation tags to be "relative" as opposed to survey point or project base point.

When I look at an elevation marker, I can only select survey point or project base point,   is there a way to

set the to relative as well?

Thanks

Do you mean Levels? If so, no.

You need to use a Spot Elevations Type that has "Elevation Base" Type Parameter set to "Relative". Then the "Relative Base" on the Options Bar will become active and available when placing an instance of this Spot Elevation Type.

What's an "Elevation Marker" in your world?

you are right I was refering to levels.

I found a way to make the spot elevation look like level tags with my a filled target symbol..

We use that method as well.  What's the deal with "Relative" though. I don't have access to "Relative" Levels on the Options Bar?

Where do you want the value to be relative to?

Sea Level. I made a sea level level.

BOF from Sea Level?  Never seen that one.  But that aside, it looks like it is working properly.  What's wrong with it?

Fair enough.  I would duplicate the Spot Elevation type instead of using Target (Project) type, which normally uses Project Base Point for elevation base.

i have it working now yes,   when I was cutting a section,  I didn't have the "relative" option for level markers,  but if I make spot elveation tags look like lvel markers,  its working for me.

Sea level for b.o.f...  like 509.68' above sea level...or something like a civil plan

In case you are wondering why Levels don't have Relative option.  Levels are still datum element so it can only based on a higher ranking datum element such as Project Base Point or Survey Point.  Spot elevations are not datum element, but reporting element, therefore they can use all available datum for base (Project Base Point, Survey Point, and Level).

Interesting.  I've never seen a civil plan - or any plan in my life that had BOF relative to sea level.
