How can I make a curved curtain wall and a curved profile curtain wall?

Hi everyone,

I need help with my project for my architecture project in university.

I have a polycarbonate family that I downloaded from DanPal online, and I need to achieve the shape that it is shown in the Rhino screenshot.

This means that I need a way to make a wall that is curved in section, and another one that is straight in section but has a curved profile.

I hope I'm explaining myself correctly.

It doesn't have to be perfect but I do need the mullions to follow the edges of the wall. The mullions themselves can be more schematic.

Thank you!

To shape the curtain wall to the curved roof, double click it and edit profile:

Ok, seems like the panel was not suitable for the wall profile I need. I've changed it now to a standard curtain wall family.

In terms of the curved mullions,  what I am struggeling with is creating a curver SECTION wall as you can see in the drawing. The top and bottom of the wall are straight lines but they are connected by an arch in section, do you understand?

I have seen some tutorials on in-place mass but I cannot achive the desired form.

No you cannot use curtain walls for such walls...these are either modeled

  1. Using a Mass and then applying a curtain system to it
    • The limitation of curtain systems is that they are segmental.
    • They are structured in Revit the same way they are in reality, IE: You cannot use the trick of setting a basic wall as panel to make it loook or fake the look of curved glass (as  @vitorbortoncello tried to demonstrate)
    • More on these you can read on this link Help | Create a Curtain System from a Mass | Autodesk
  2. Using Pattern Based Generic model panels
    • These work as a solution to combining both world. They are panels constructed based on a defined paterns
    • They are somewhat adaptive in the sense that the modeled geometry adapts to the adjustments which the user introduce to the U and V grids
    • To use these you need a surface/mass which you apply a pattern to
  3. Using adaptive points on a divided surface with repeaters
    • These are the more advanced version of the pattern based
    • These components articulate themselves to any host (not just the defined patters) and adapt their shape/dimensions accordingly.
