Manage>>Project Parameters>>Add

You can create it either a Project parameter, or select a Shared Parameter. Check any or all the highlighted boxes to assign the parameter to whatever categories that you want.

Let me give you an example. Supposing you have added the parameter to rooms. Some rooms will have the same value. CTRL-Click to select the rooms that need to have the same value. In Properties type the value required and YOU MUST HIT ENTER when you are done typing. Repeat with the other rooms that need to have the same value.

Hey there,

my way has a couple easy steps:

- Usually what I do is create a new instance parameter and make sure to click "add to all elements in the selected categories." at the bottom of the new parameter properties dialogue.

- Also, make sure that the category you wish to use is selected from the list on the right.

- then go into 3D view and highlight everything in the whole project - Then Filter down to only your selected category.

- then type a value in the new parameter in the properties panel.

Tom

Hope that helps!

Sorry for the late respose, but anothar way to accomplish this is to create a schedule (if al categories in your project have this parameter, it can be a multi-category schedule), and in sorting uncheck the "itemize every instance" box. Then you will have a single line for each parameter, and by inserting a value your are assigning such value to all elements.
