How can a curtain wall be within another curtain wall element

so I am given a model where I notice curtain wall having a change in one part of the grid as shown.  The whole plane is selectable as one, I tried to check the profile but it's all together in just one rectangle. Now I am wondering how this gridless curtain panel is within curtain panel that is spaced 500mm x&y.  note that it this unique panel cannot be deleted, it can only be deleted if the whole side is selected, it's as if like the mullions that you cannot delete because it is part of the whole curtain wall..   I checked all property dialog boxes(type and instance) and i still cannot find out how it is done. Oh I get in now!  the system panel is detached from the curtain wall and was edited.
