How: an adaptive chord with midpoint always drop 2% of the chord length

Hello,

I need an adaptive  chord cable with its midpoints always drop down 5% of the cable length,

but tried many ways but unable to do that,

Please advice, thanks

You don't drop the midpoint, but host another point on that midpoint and offset from host a distance equal 2% of the chord length.

Hello ToanDN

now I :

setp (1) make a point B offset L/2 to start point adaptive A

step (2) make a point C offset L*0.05 to B

step (3) add adapitvc end point D with a reporting parameter L to A,

seems work --- is that correct? any other way?

Please advice thanks

Try this family.  It was done exactly how I described earlier. I repeat the steps here:

- place 2 points, make then adaptive

- create a ref line thru the 2 points above

- place a dim between 2 points, associate the dim with a reporting instance parameter [L]

- place a ref point in the middle of the ref line, no need to add dimension or constrain, it stays in the middle of the ref line automatically (beauty of adaptive family)

- place another ref point using the midpoint as host, select the new point and change Offset from host to a arbitrary value from properties

- associate Offset from host with another instance parameter [h], enter = -(L/50) in the formula box of [h]
