Is there a way to hide the crop region in the view template menu?

Nope.

You do have the option to select multiple views and switch the crop regions on or off for all of them, or you can apply a scope box to all the views which will crop the views to the same extents.

Or you can create a dynamo script to hide all of them in one click

Actually I created one already lol.
It hides crop region from viewports you've selected
