Hi Everyone,
I have recently imported in Revit a CAD file with 3D information regarding the site of our construction.
Although buildings are solids and therefore visualized properly in Revit, all the terrain (roads, landscape, pavements) are polyface mesh and the mesh is visible in all view no matter what visual style is selected.
Pitched roof are also showing a mesh.
I don't seem to be allowed to pick each line individually and hide it either.
Did anybody ever come across this problem? Could you please let me know if there is a solution?
I have also tried to import the CAD file in SketchUp and then import the SketchUp file into Revit but it didn't solve the issue.
Thank you very much for your help
Kind Regards
sounds to me like you need to create Revit Elements from your Imported CAD -- like a Toposurface or Mass. Have you used the tools on the Massing and Site Tab for any of this? Perhaps, seeing your file would help us to help you. Want to Post it?
Hi Barth,
thank you for your reply. However it is a good chunk of a city therefore I don't think I will be remodeling it in Revit.
It's also a huge and quite expensive file that I won't be allow to share unfortunately, since it's not my property.
Sounds like I would have to remodel it or hope that the surveyor will do a better job than zmap.
Thank you for your suggestion and your attention
Kind Regards
TAB over the linked DWG until the triangular layer is highlighted and select...Query in the top ribbon and then turn it off.
Most of the time the layer is SRF-VIEW...you can turn off that layer in Visibility Graphics in the Import tab.
