Hiding by element and category in sheets gives different results.

I have a floorplan which I need to add to a sheet so I duplicated as a dependent. After placing the duplicated view on a sheet I need to hide some dimensions so I hide the dimensions individually by element and they do indeed disappear on the sheet but not in the original view.

But if I hide the dimensions by category, whilst they do hide in the dependent view on the sheet, they also hide on the original view.

Is this deliberate?  I would have though that no matter how you hide (by element or by category) the same effects would be seen...

yes this is how it works in a view dependent? try to save as a view with detailing and hide by category the dimension and it will not hide the dimension in the parent view. thanks
