Hello,
my question is about the linear dimension in Revit. Is there the possibility to hide the dimension line under the number? We have get the solution using coordinates but the necessity to move the text is not the best. Olso the possibility to set the white line is not the appropriate one: the white line appear on our views on the sheets!

A picture/screencap with an explanation of what your want done would be usefull.

Hi,
I would like to get a family of linear dimension whit only the invisible dimension line style. See attached, please.

Thanks for the answers, but the solution with setting dimension string type as "Ordinate" is had already been discarded by us.
See attached
I would recommend creating a 'Detail Item line based.rfa'. If you nest a generic annotation with a length parameter linked to read the length it should give you the results you desiring. I have also used this method to dimension to an object outside the crop boundary. Just drag the attached family into your project and see if this is a step in the right direction. There is still plenty of options for fine tuning since it is a custom family vs. a system family. I too would like to see more control of the dimension system family but don't see it coming anytime soon...maybe 2019...
Good Luck
I second the idea of using a line based detail family.
Thank you for the excellent suggestion of a line based family, we were trying something similar for a client who wanted the below image for an estate agent drawing.
See attached .rfa simple family we created.
You can add a reporting parameter to the family, create a "detail item" schedule to create the list of lengths.
Hi,
Is it possible to create a label or to tag the reporting parameter in the project so it will display the length of the line-based family?
Thank you!

Hello, what reporting parameter did you add to allow you to schedule the dimension data.
Thank you.
