Hi All,
I am working with Revit 2017, and recently, on opening the software I get a message about Templates (see attached). I want to create a Family, and when I select NEW - FAMILY I get only the folder options attached which looks unfamiliar to me.
I have attached screen shot. I am unsure what I have done as I have created many families in the past but possibly with a previous version of Revit. I cannot remember creating one yet with 2017. I have linked UK content folder which contains all import families and that is working fine (the is the YEAR 3 - UK Screenshot)
Thanks - if you need more screen shots let me know.
My current set up attached below for Family Template in File Location which links to UK content folder families such as Furniture, etc.
The default path is for family templates (.rtf). I assume you put your own families (.rfa) which are not family templates in D:\YEAR 3\UK. If there aren't any .rtf files there then you will get the warning.
That is not the standard file location for family templates. What your screenshot shows first is the location of the templates and not the family templates. The family templates are usually location in the C: drive > Program Data > Autodesk > Revit 2017 > Templates. Unless you have a different deployment setup to a server location, that's where your family templates are and you should browse to them and make sure revit goes there when you try to create a new family.
