Hi,
I am trying to add the exterior window trim family to an OOTB triple casement side transom family but I didn't get much further than associating the height and width parameters and it is still broken. As a bonus, I want to figure out how to move the bundles of reference planes creating the vertical partitions so I can adjust the size of the center window.
Thanks for any help on this.
Hello
I think the Original Model family, you ended up giving parameters to the " Base Plane "...and that's where everything went wrong. cause it was not allowing you to either fit to the opening or even map those Height and Width instance parameter. I think you did 80-85 % correct, but that base plane was disaster.
Make sure the original plane is untouched and none of the reference planes should be attached to that.
I created brand new Trim / Frame family and demonstrated.
Have a look, am sure you can reverse engineer it now.
Also try not to check " Shared" for either embedded families or main families. cause it cannot be reversed.
Shared is usually used when its used multiple locations in the project...just an advice unless you know how to use shared embedded families.
Do not use shared, cause it cannot be reversed.
Frame and with Sill. ( Visibility parameters as Type Parameters used )
Cheers.
