Help to create Void Text

hi there,

I wondered if there is a way to create Void Text, eg. I want to create Signage in a Retail store and have text that is an incision in metal.  (for toilet signs, etc).

I have used Model Text but seem to be unable to do negative values.  I know I can use Void Extrusion but if I can use Model Text I think it could be faster if this works. I have used Model text for positive extrusion signage that looks good but want the opposite now.

Thanks alot if anyone can help.

Hello, nope. Never heard or read about void text. Thanks

Thinking outside the box, I'm guessing you might be able to run your Model text and sign thru dynamo and subtract one object from the other using an intersection method. Just a thought.

Create your model text and extend it into the wall or object you are using.  Use the join command to join the text to the object.  It has to be Text first, then object.  Hide the Model text in view.

More info about it and another tidbit here
