HELP "Draw Order"

Hi Revit'ers

We have a project where we have done our drawings in AutoCAD, XREFing a architectural background and then drawing our lighting atop it, and them use REVIT to bring together and plot everything. The issue we're having is draw order. Our lighting layers are brought to the front in AutoCAD and plot fine from there, however sometimes they drop behind the XREFs when we plot from REVIT. See attached images of a plot from AutoCAD where LP6-013 tag is above the XREF lines, and the REVIT plot where it drops behind.

Please help!

Maybe draw a section thru that area and make sure the CAD file is "below", above in the case of a ceiling plan, the cut plane.

Opaque Tags in lieu of Transparent Tags?

I see they are Opaque.

Do you have the "Foreground/Background" control available on the Option Bar when you select the imported DWG file?

...sorry. I meant to add: if you don't have "Foreground/Background" control, you can get it by selecting the "Current View Only" when you import the CAD file.

To specify element draw order

  1. In the drawing area, select one or more details.

The following tools become available on the Modify <element> tabArrange panel.

    •  (Bring to Front). Immediately places the selected details in front of all other details in the view.
    •  (Send to Back). Immediately places the selected details behind all other details in the view.
    •  (Bring Forward). Moves the selected details one step closer to the front of all other details.
    •  (Send Backward). Moves the selected details one step closer to the back of all other details.
  2. Click the desired option to move the details.
