Help please: Revit 2016 installation not working with Monthly Subscription

Hi,

I have purchased a Revit and a Collaboration for Revit subscription on a Monthly Term yesterday at the Autodesk Canada web store.
Now I am trying to install, and it is not working. Cost me the whole day so far.

  1. So there is a serial number for "Revit 2017 ALL" in my account and only serial numbers for the flavours (arch, mep, struc) for 2016.
  2. I was instructed by Autodesk support chat to uninstall the existing Revit 2016 with an EDU license (that I currently need for teaching)
  3. I uninstalled my Revit 2016 EDU installation (clean uninstall as described here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...
  4. Then I download Revit 2016 via link in my account, this seems to be  though the full combined version (that's what I need)
  5. It won't let me install with the provided serial number and product code combination (screenshot)
  6. I have contacted Autodesk support this morning at 5 PSTvia web form, no feedback so far.

As my project that I need to work on is hosted on A360 C4R and is version 2016 I do need "Revit 2016" as well I need the "ALL" version (not Architecture, MEP, Structure) to manage various facets of the design.

Does anybody have a hint on how to proceed to get the "Revit 2016 ALL" installed with a monthly subscription?

Thank you

Hi @jens I deleted your screenshot for security purposes as it contained your serial number.

Since the latest version Autodesk Revit 2017 was upgraded from Revit Verticals (Revit Architecture, Revit MEP and Revit Structure) we are unable to generate a serial number for Revit (ALL). This means that you would need to install the verticals if you need to use version 2016.

Your serial numbers remains the same however the product keys are different.

- Autodesk Revit MEP 2016 * Product key 589H1
- Autodesk Revit Structure 2016 * Product key 255H1
- Autodesk Revit Architecture 2016 * Product key 240H1

You can download 2016 version and find the serial numbers in your Autodesk Account.

Let us know if you still need help.

Ooops, sorry for posting the screenshot like this, I did not think about it.
So how can I get the "Revit ALL" version. I don't want to do parallel
installations of all the flavors (vertical versions), this is extremely
inconvenient and waste. Can I buy 2016 instead of 2017?
Thank you

In my account the "Revit ALL" version is even the one that is offered first to download.
I could install fine with the product key for the "Revit ALL" version. I just could not activate.
Please advise.

Only Revit 2017 comes in the "ALL" version unless you buy a Building Design Suite Premium. That will include Revit, AutoCAD, 3DS Max, and more, It may be more than you need. The Building Design Suite Premium 2016 version included the Revit "ALL" version.

Otherwise, you will need to install the individual Revit 2016 products, arch, MEP, and Structural.

OK, but what is the rationale behind it?

That was not quite obvious when buying.

Extremely frustrating process ...

Could you connect me with someone to discuss options in regards to upgrading to the Suite.

Thank you

You mentioned Canada...where are you located? I will work to get one of our Resellers to contact you. When did you buy the license? You may be better off going with what we call Desktop Subscription. You can "lease" Revit 2017 and Collaboration for Revit monthly, without having to pay a substantial upfront purchase fee. But best to have one of our Reseller Partners contact you to discuss the best solution for you.

(edit: I'm sorry this has been a frustrating process for you.  Hopefully we can make this better for you.)

Hi Scott,

This is what I need. I am a bit confused right now with the changing product palette at Autodesk

I will need "Revit 2016 ALL" and C4R on a month to month basis.

I just came across the new collaboration suite, does it include C4R and "Revit ALL"?

I would appreciate if we could continue the conversation via email.

Thank you

Jens
